Uncle John & Whitelock

Unkle Bob

Glasgow acoustic outfit Unkle Bob recently released their debut album on Friendly Sounds, a new label linked to Psychiatric Records. According to the Scotsman, "Unkle Bob write songs in the vein of Nick Drake and their singer is a rare talent who could give Gomez something to really complain about". (Beatbreakers 21/1/04)

U.N.P.O.C

Like James Yorkston before him, U.n.p.o.c. has emerged from Fife's Fence Collective, and now finds himself recording for the Domino label. The brainchild of Tom Bauchop, the critics have been falling over themselves to praise his album "Fifth Column". The Sunday Times decribed it as a "debut album of beauty and wonder", while The Telegraph's Andrew Perry wrote "his sound may be too unpolished to tussle with the Pop Idols on mainstream radio, but in some better parallel universe, Bauchop has delivered the pop album of 2003."
